London 2 Paris for
Phoebe
Hello all you lovely people,
Phoebe's cerebral palsy is a life long condition. This will require adaptations to her everyday environment and specialised equipment to ensure she has the opportunities to lead as normal a life as possible.
Danielle's very close & amazing friend Carys has decided to cycle from London to Paris on the August bank holiday weekend to raise funds for equipment to assist Phoebe.
She is partaking with her cousin who runs a charity for children with lifelong conditions.
She is hoping to raise enough to buy a kidwalk, it is a walking aid which allows Phoebe to begin to step independently and enable Phoebe to socialise with Nieve and her peers. It's an expensive piece of kit (like all special needs equipment is!) We believe it to be around £2,500 depending on the accessories required, as each kidwalk is built for the individuals needs.
Any funds left over will go towards Phoebe's on going needs for specialised footwear. These are bespoke shoes which assist correcting her leg length discrepancy and aid her ability to step. We have to purchase them through a private orthotics company, they are £435 a pair. They have already made a significant difference to her stepping & standing. We wish we had been introduced to them sooner, despite the high price.
We appreciate all of your love and support
.
Lots of love
Danielle, Simon, Phoebe & Nieve
